DENTAL SERVICES
Just like humans, pets also need dental cleanings to prevent periodontal disease that can lead to bad breath, tooth loss and infections that can affect vital organs like the heart, liver and kidneys. Professional dental cleanings remove plaque and tartar that can damage gums and supporting structures - potentially causing irreversible bone loss.
WHY DO DENTAL CLEANINGS?
WHAT DOES A PROFESSIONAL DENTAL CLEANING ENTAIL?
We start with a comprehensive oral health exam! After their exam, the day of your dog’s dental cleaning you can expect:
Pre-anesthetic bloodwork to ensure your dog is healthy enough to receive anesthesia
Continuous monitoring throughout their dental with state of the art equipment
Full mouth X Rays
Teeth cleaning using an ultrasonic scaler
Teeth polishing
Examination and probing of the gums to chart and assess gingival health. Any abnormalities or areas to monitor are noted
If any of the teeth are compromised ( loose teeth, fractures or cavities ) your doctor will call you to discuss a treatment plan
The safety of your pet being our primary concern
SPAY & NEUTER
WHY SPAY OR NEUTER?
Spaying or Neutering your pet is an easy way to prevent certain diseases and behaviors! Not only does this aid in population control, it can offer significant health benefits. Spay or Neuter prevents:
Pyometra - infection of the uterus
Mammary cancer
Prostate issues
Marking
Roaming behaviors
Unwanted pregnancies
WHEN TO SPAY OR NEUTER
This is something discussed with your vet - every pet is different. Typically timing of spay or neuter is discussed at your first wellness appointment.
