WHY DO DENTAL CLEANINGS?
Just like humans, pets also need dental cleanings to prevent periodontal disease that can lead to bad breath, tooth loss and infections that can affect vital organs like the heart, liver and kidneys. Professional dental cleanings remove plaque and tartar that can damage gums and supporting structures - potentially causing irreversible bone loss.
WHAT DOES A PROFESSIONAL DENTAL CLEANING ENTAIL?
We start with a comprehensive oral health exam! After their exam, the day of your dog’s dental cleaning you can expect:
Pre-anesthetic bloodwork to ensure your dog is healthy enough to receive anesthesia
Continuous monitoring through their dental with state of the art equipment
Full mouth X-Rays
Teeth cleaning using an ultrasonic scaler
Teeth polishing
Gums probed and examined to gauge the gingival health, charted and any abnormalities or areas to monitor noted
If any of the teeth are compromised ( loose teeth, fractures or cavities ) your doctor will call you to discuss a treatment plan
The safety of your dog being our primary concern
